Football, fun and fundraising: Our five-a-side charity tournament

Ascensor’s inaugural five-a-side charity football event brought businesses together for five great causes.

Organised by marketing account manager Lewis Hannah, the tournament was another chance to raise funds for our 15k For 15 Years appeal.

We took on teams from fellow digital agencies Parallax and 21 Degrees, as well as a squad from National Highways, on the hallowed (astro)turf of Powerleague Leeds Central.

Victory on the pitch went to Parallax, but the real triumph was witnessed off the field.

With every player making a donation to take part, the tournament successfully contributed to our ever-rising appeal total that directly benefits charities close to the Ascensor team’s hearts: Alzheimer's Society, Macmillan Cancer Support, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Stroke Association and Simon on the Streets.

The whole evening was about generosity and sportsmanship from everyone involved, and showed how great things happen when businesses and organisations unite for a bigger purpose.

National Highways beat 21 Degrees Digital 12-4 in the third-place play-off game, with Parallax taking on Ascensor in the final and running out 10-8 winners to clinch the title.

Beyond the action on the pitch, the event was all about giving back. But if you missed the chance to be part of the games, it's not too late to contribute.

For 15 years we've been all about results, but at every stage of the journey it’s also been incredibly important to make a positive impact on our community.

To mark our 15th birthday we stepped up our efforts by aiming to raise £15,000 for five great causes. And we still need your help to make it happen!
We’d really appreciate any donations at all, however small, towards our target - find out more here.
